Landmarks and surface markings of the human body

Rawling, LB. (1908). Landmarks and surface markings of the human body. PB Hoeber: New York.

Rawling (1871 – 1940) was a general surgeon. This slim book contains 31 images: black and white photograph of white male (frontal view with a fig leaf strategically overdrawn to provide modesty). Landmarks are illustrated with print overlay and labels often with the juxtaposition of a skeleton next to the photograph of the model. It is a monographic and topographic anatomy text, mainly used for radiographic and surgery departments. In 1940 the 8th edition was published and showed minor anatomical mistakes.
