The Spinal Lesion
1966

Paris, S. (1966). The spinal lesion. Pegasus.

A review of this book by physician Vernon L Nickel (1967) was wary. He concluded his review with,

“Although this book contains the adjuncts of documentation — appendices, references, and excellent photographs — most of the material presented is based on testimonials rather than on objective facts. Nevertheless, it suggests an excellent subject for the physician and the trained physical therapist to study under controlled conditions that could apply scientific rationale to this controversial method of treatment. Certainly investigations should be continued, but until more about this topic is understood, physical therapists should not have the responsibility of treating patients by manipulation”.

Fortunately the profession ignored him.
