Dutch Physiotherapy History Foundation Releases Magazine

The Dutch History of Physiotherapy Foundation (SGF) has just released the first edition of their new SGF Magazine – available here.

SGF Magazine First Edition

SGF Magazine First Edition

Physiotherapy has a rich history, and that history is constantly evolving. With this very first issue of the Stichting Geschiedenis Fysiotherapie Magazine, the SGF seek to bring that history to life. The first issue takes readers into the rich history of physiotherapy: historical treatment methods, unique finds from ancient libraries and special instruments. There is also attention to personal stories of influential therapists and pioneers in the profession.

Why this magazine?

The magazine originated from a clear ambition and will hopefully become a worthy successor to the current SGF newsletter; making the past of physiotherapy visible, tangible, and relevant for today.

The SGF will take readers along remarkable stories, forgotten insights, and people who have shaped the profession. From historical instruments to personal histories, each article sheds new light on where we come from. By understanding the past, space is created to think ahead.

What can we learn? What do we take with us into the future?

With the magazine, the SGF hopes to inspire, surprise, and pique curiosity.
